A Message Of Love For Bill  & Denise

Bill's Newsletters To Family & Friends

16th Newsletter -

Hello All,

It's been a while since I sent out an update and during that time, we received some not so good news.

About two weeks, ago, I was notified by my San Diego medical team (i.e. UCSD) that my cancer had returned and was growing in my body, again. My HCG cancer marker was 51 on 3/24 and has risen to 111 on 4/6. In addition, because UCSD used  the only high dose chemo treatment that they have for my rare type of cancer, they no longer could treat my cancer for a "cure", but provide "palliative" treatment, which means treating me to extend the quality of my life. Well, this was devastating news for Denise, myself, and our families to hear, BUT... life and treatment does go on in Houston, Texas!!!

Yes... I am generating this email from Houston after returning back to my medical team at MD Anderson for help! The promising news is that my cancer is not returning back feverishly AND there is another "established" high dose chemotherapy / stem cell transplant protocol that has proven successful in curing my type of cancer. So, after being back in Houston for just over a week, now, I have talked with multiple doctors, have had many tests, and everything is looking positive for my having another high dose chemo with a stem cell transplant starting possibly at the end of this month and lasting for 3 - 4 months. God bless Denise!!!

So, while we are in Houston, we are getting all of our email, but nothing from the post office at this point. So, if anyone wants to contact us, please call, text, and/or email. Both Denise and I will get back to you, when we can, around appointments and our scouring the Houston restaurant scene, again. Everybody at the Wyndham hotel was both glad and sad to see us, again, but the good news was that they almost did not recognize me, since I have grown hair, gained some good weight, and don't look sick, anymore (i.e. I'm only sick on paper!!!).

So, I will keep everyone updated on my condition, again, as best I can. Also, know that I am much stronger going into this treatment than any other treatment over the last year plus. So, Denise and I are ready to move forward to do whatever is needed to find a cure for this terrible disease. In addition, I have my twin brother Bobby, also know as "my spare parts", donating stem cells for my upcoming treatment, so that I don't have to go through that procedure, again, AND that I get healthier and stronger stem cells into my system after so much chemotherapy in the past! It's a blessing to know what extent our families and friends will go to help us in our time of need!!! It means more to us than words can express... Thank You-Thank You!!! Everything is good!!!

We hope all is well and good with all of you, but we know that this is not always true as our good friend, Jenn, just lost her father last week, who we will miss dearly!!! Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of you!!!

All Our Love,

Bill and Denise
